Honorable Mention…

Author Jaime Rush sponsors a contest every month called the Kick Butt First Line Contest for writers and readers. I entered October’s contest with a couple of entries, and received an honorable mention for my first line from my WIP The Navy Lady.

Lady Phoebe Howard had been in and out of trouble all her life; but kidnapping was new ground, even for her.

Jaime sent me a very nice email, where she said:

Congrats, your line won an honorable mention! It was one of my favorites…

While I would love to have the best first line, it was nice being recognized for a great first line!
